ESG Team Update
In our last newsletter, we introduced you to our newly-formed ESG Team. While they are just getting started, we wanted to share some of the progress they have made on their initiatives so far.
Community Volunteering
A member of our ESG Team volunteered with the Sunnyside Community Garden in Sunnyside, NY to help rebuild a retention wall as part of their Barnett Beautification project. After several weekends spent shoveling, carrying wood, and cleaning up debris, the wall was completed in late spring. Pictures from the rebuild can be found on the garden’s Instagram.
The ESG Team is eager to help other organizations and it will be on the lookout for more volunteering opportunities. If you know of any opportunities or would be interested in partnering with our ESG Team on a project, please contact us at compliance@acupay.com.
Employee Walking Challenge
To promote the benefits to mental health and general fitness that come from physical activity, the team organised a walking challenge in May with employees engaging in a friendly competition to see who could achieve the highest step count over the span of 30 days. In all, around half of Acupay’s employees participated, and almost 4.5 million steps were taken altogether (based on received step totals)! Participants shared their interest in having more challenges like this in the future, and the team has already started brainstorming for the next event.
Next Steps
To keep people moving while also supporting a good cause, we have signed up to join the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in New York on Sunday, October 2, 2022. The event will take place in person and virtually so both our New York and London employees can participate. Funds raised will go towards investing in research to prevent and cure breast cancer.
